🧜🏻‍♀️Meet Wild Sea Women Leader Karen Hedge🧜🏻‍♀️

“A big hello and welcome to Wild Sea Women. I started sea-dipping during the first lockdown of 2020 when I was struggling to balance work, life, adjusting to the pandemic including home-schooling. It proved to be just the release I needed and I have laughed, cried, lived and loved in the sea since. Even my 7-year-old daughter says it has changed her life, although my son is less convinced by the cold water. I am passionate about self-care and making a difference, so the chance to be a Leader is one I could not turn down – the Wild Sea Women community is just so welcoming and supportive, and I hope to extend that to others. It has also been great opportunity to dust off my old skills of teaching mindfulness and meditation techniques and combine that with my all-round love of the sea. Added bonus for those who exercise – I have found the cold-water therapy great for recovery.”

“Hi, I’m Paula @figleafplantbasedlife , owner of Fig Leaf Plant-Based Life. I am a Whole Food Plant-Based Chef delivering healthy food cooked with love across the North East.
I believe that we are what we eat. Educating how our bodies are either harmed or thrive due to our food choices is something I love.
Delivering not just on food but also on how to live a plant-based life in every aspect from plastic-free to zero waste. All our choices impact our health and our planet. The favourite part of my life is delivering and catering for retreats, this is where I feel truly at home with my tribe. At gatherings I get to meet of all kinds of women from all walks of life. So hopefully, we will see you someday soon somewhere in the world.
Lindsey and I came to a Seaburn meet one Sunday last summer and we were hooked. The feeling of euphoria that cold water therapy brings is worth conquering fears for. Wanting to spread this newfound love over the water we were guided by Hayley to set up a Tynemouth dip. I love the feeling of connection not just with the sea but also with the women that gather with the same purpose.”
