Hello, I’m Sam, I’m lucky enough to live close to the wonderful Sunderland coastline, my childhood memories of Roker have given an insight into why I am drawn to the beach, it’s my safe place, my happy place and my sad place, where I ponder my thoughts searching for answers and inspiration. So it was no surprise around 18 months ago at a crossroads in my life, not quite sure where I belonged anymore, feeling a little lost and wondering where the wind would take me, that morning I was greeted by the most magnificent red sky, as I stood there in awe, I suddenly felt calm and knew all would be ok and I would end where I was meant to be.
Unbeknown to me Hayley was at the other end of the beach facing the same dilemma, a few weeks later our paths crossed, we met up went for a dip in the sea had a chat and I have never looked back, it has been life-changing and now part of my daily routine along with my love of yoga and the gym. I also have a love of being behind the camera, and love to capture the radiant colours and moods of the sky and sea while I’m out walking my 2 dogs and of course while swimming in the sea.
I have met some incredible people and gained so much knowledge and inspiration from them. It has given me the opportunity to grow and inspire others. The cold water exposure is both calming yet exhilarating – so difficult to explain how you feel, so on that note I shall invite you to join us on our journey and become part f our Wild Sea Women family. Everyone is always welcome.
