Hi, I’m Nadia, Founder and owner of The Tranquil Treehouse, an organisation supporting children, parents and schools with emotional wellbeing and mental health. I use yoga, nature, meditation and breathing techniques to give my clients (young and old) the tools to find their inner calm. Coaching care-givers to parent in a tranquil way is one of my passions and I provide daily guidance via my social media channels. My own journey with meditation and breath-work started at the age of 15 when my radical Maths teacher taught me some simple methods. I then started practising Iyengar yoga at 18 after a car accident left her with lower back pains. I’ve been hooked ever since.
Since having my son Bodhi, I have prioritised being outside in nature and slowing down. I’m often found playing with my son at the beach, in the woods or on the top of a mountain.
I started dipping in the sea a few years ago, either with my son or alone, and I wondered why it had taken me so long to swim in the North Sea. After connecting with Hayley through her online classes and joining the Wild Sea Women, I has been in the water most days, near my home in South Shields.
I’ve always loved the cold, whether it’s ice, snow or just winter. I’ve always felt healthier when I’m exposed to the cold rather than heat. When I learnt about all of the health benefits of cold exposure and then spent some regular time in the sea, I became addicted! I feel so fortunate to be part of this wonderful community; I love that we’re connecting in a fun, healthy and empowering way.
Nadia also writes a column for Luxe Magazine, and featured in an article about her work earlier this year.
