I’m Lahdane Cameron, a local woman born and raised in Ayr. I have a fiancé Alex, we have been together for 10 years and have two beautiful children, Cameron and Chloe. I work for NHS Ayrshire and Arran as a Nursing Assistant, currently working through the chaos of the pandemic and caring for those in need. I am very passionate about my job, I take great satisfaction and pride in making a difference to the lives of people when they are at a vulnerable and unwell time. Outwith working and being a full time Mummy, I enjoy walking, tuning into podcasts, reading and cooking. I also love spending time with my family and friends, making memories with those close to me.
I came across Wild Sea Women Ayrshire by chance when Michelle posted on my local community social media page. I had a YOLO (you only live once) moment, joined the page and spoke with Michelle and I was in the water within a few days. I believe living life this way often turns out for the better, and for me it has. At the time, I was receiving counselling and wanted to find something new as part of my goal setting. I had got lost in the midst of depression and anxiety, and was struggling to recognise who I was. I wanted to find myself again, and try something new out of my comfort zone.
Cold water therapy and discovering Wild Sea Women was the lifeline I needed at a time where my mental health was suffering. I have found me again, I am happy within myself and I love the invigoration and buzz that cold water therapy has brought to me. As well as the physical and mental benefits, I am enjoying meeting likeminded crazy ladies to join in the sea. The energy, fun, laughing and positivity that fills the sea air is what has got me hooked!
