Hello and welcome, I’m Hayley & I live in the North East of England (Sunderland).
I have 2 beautiful grown-up children, Summer (22) and Spencer (18.)
Before starting up a Wellness Business (XHAYLE) I worked in IT as a Network & Firewall Engineer for the NHS (from 2004.) For the final 3 years of my career in IT (up until June 2019) I was self-employed, contracted to work for global IT company Hewlett Packard, during this time I was also training to become a Kundalini Yoga Instructor (often referred to as the yoga of awareness).
Discovering the Power of The Cold
For as long as I remember, I have always started the day with a cold shower and dipped in the sea with either a family member or my dog Cleo, I love the buzz I get when I go into cold water, my thoughts stop and I feel alive, it’s so addictive!
In 2019 I certified as a Wim Hof Method Instructor, later that year certifying as a Surf Lifeguard. This gave me much more confidence in and around the water. I completed this training at Saltburn Surf School. which I highly recommend, especially to anyone who spends a lot of time in the sea.
How Wild Sea Women came about
I must admit, I’ve never really been a fan of gender-specific groups, I’ve mainly worked with men my whole life. Over this last year or two, I was feeling drawn (and was asked by others) to consider setting up men/women only groups. So I began teaching male/female only workshops and classes. I was eventually sent on a bit of a detour, which lead me to the formation Wild Sea Women.
Not only do I meet the most amazing women in the sea, many whom have become close friends – but hearing and seeing how happy the sea is making so many women, is enough to remind me I am on the right path. My path is to inspire others to step out their comfort zones, to feel the power of the sea and other natural cold water for the mind, body and soul.
