Wild Sea Women

We’ve had an amazing few weeks where we’ve seen Wild Sea Women expand to other beaches around the NE, and although the dips are all postponed for the time being, due to new restrictions, we now have WSW sessions at the following locations; Sunderland, Seaham, South Shields & Tynemouth and are also going to soon have a group in Scotland (Ayrshire).

These new locations are being lead by some amazing women, who are being introduced on social media channels and will be introduced more fully on our new website when it is up and running (www.wildseawomen.com).

If you’d like to start a WSW (or an Iceguys) at your local beach/river/lake or loch then contact us to find out how to start up.

We’re also keen to hear from you if you’d like to organise an event via Wild Sea Women. We’ve had some amazing events lately with talented guest teachers, including; Fire Dancing, Gong Baths and Yoga – all hosted on our beautiful beaches followed by an optional sea dip and a warm up by a fire..

Unfortunately (as mentioned above) our sea swim groups Wild Sea Women & Iceguys are currently on hold due to the latest rules. This of course will not stop us from going into the sea for a swim, but it means we can no longer organise and support the larger group swims (which is very frustrating, as many women & men have fed back to us how much these sessions are helping with their mental health during this time which many are struggling with). If you’d like to continue sea swimming but not sure who to go with then send me a message on the whatsapp number below and I’ll help you to arrange this.

If you’re unable to take a sea dip during this time, then this is the perfect opportunity to take a cold shower or a cold bath to condition your body and mind to the cooler temperatures. Cold water provides us with so many benefits and taking a cold shower can be a totally different challenge that dipping in the sea – give it a try and you’ll see what I mean. If you’re new to cold water exposure then I’d recommend you begin by ending your warm shower with a 30 sec blast of cold (as cold as you can go), then week by week increase this time to 60 sec then 90 and so on. (3 mins is enough to get all of the benefits).
